From 1st decade to  the 8th

Where does any beginning have its start? It was the day, David's young son, Kevin, brought home a project and asked his father to suggest or share an idea or two of how to accomplish a school, art class, assignment.  Stranger things have happened but  for some unknown reason it was that day and time David's visionary art really came to life. Happening in early October of the year 1980, in the valley of The Rouge River of Oregon.  Now, David's art has taken off to his receiving the recognition in the year of 2005 as

And, it all began with Kevin's school project. David then decided to see what he might be able to do and taking a pencil in hand, started placing dots in various areas on a large piece of paper while sharing some of his thoughts and possible ideas that might help, Kevin.

What happened next. After helping his son, David decided to attempt and began an  art project of his own. In case you haven't surmised by now, David is a self-taught artist visionary artist. David
About the only art David accomplished before? It was during David's years in high school he'd found a way to make a little extra money by sketching portrait drawings from photographs  of girlfriends for some of their boyfriends or want to boyfriends. Little did their girlfriends know! Then, David would purposely leave his signature off of the pictures of the girlfriends he'd sketched, and instead let the boyfriends place their own signatures on his art work so that it looked to their girlfriends or whoever they might want to impress,  as if they had been responsible for the sketched portrait. The girlfriends where made very happy, their boyfriends enjoyed the recognition of their sweethearts and David had an extra buck or two,  to buy some very badly needed food. Asking David where his ability to sketch these pictures and or portraits came from he will tell you he hasn't the slightest idea except it being some type of blessing from a higher power that was looking down on him. He will also tell you that after a while he became very bored with sketching portraits because the drawings were really someone else's art that he was just sketching on to a much large piece of paper. And, not realizing the value of the talent given him, and as a teenager occupying himself with other things at the time, David drifted away from world of art.

But then.. Approximately 22 years later, and for the very first time in his life David found, from somewhere deep within himself, the desire to once again attempt to use his  skills in the field of art. Yes, David began his life in art once again but, this time instead of portraits David began a new adventure by drawing some of his own visionary art of heavenly landscapes.

David's first visionary art work, accomplished, was a picture entitled 'The Drack of Doom'. Showing in this work of art a large universal individual with head, body and arms made up of planets, comets, moons, stars and galaxies.  This was the start of  David's visionary art coming to life.

About David profiting from his art:  David does not, and refuses to,  financially profit from his own works of art.  David's  art has been and is being freely donated to people and organizations who help, battered women, abused and neglected children, and, our precious abandoned elderly. In it order to make this happen, there are those who have joined in and are involved in extending a helping hand,  David,  quickly recognizes and gives credit for the help and constant support from a wonderful lady now in his life and her family. And, dearest of friends, Russell Faber, his sister Laura, and other very caring people.
